The Vital Lincoln City members’ voted for whom they believe was The Imps Man of The Match in their 5-1 win at home against Bolton Wanderers in League One.

Views from Chesterimp: “Morrell for me. He bossed the midfield and just looked determined to score – would hope common sense says that’s his goal and not an own goal.

Toffolo-Man-Of-The-Match just shaded this time. Good points about Akinde, he does keep making a difference and while his 2 nicely taken goals were icing on the cake he’d helped turn the game beforehand.”

Here’s how the poll finished:

Vickers: 0 votes – 0.0%
Toffolo: 5 votes – 11.1%
Shackell: 0 votes – 0.0%
Bolger: 1 vote – 2.2%
Walker: 0 votes – 0.0%
Grant: : 0 votes – 0.0%
Morrell: 20 votes – 44.4%
Coventry: 0 votes – 0.0%

Anderson: 7 votes – 15.6%
Hesketh: 0 votes – 0.0%
Akinde: 12 votes – 26.7%

More Comments:

NottyImp: “Akinde. Two goals, won headers and flick-ons and laid the ball off well. A top performance from the big man.”

PerthImp: “Many good performances but I’ve gone for Morrell. Continually driving the team forward. Also could develop a good partnership with Coventry. Honourable mention for Toffolo. We love you Harry – if it was your last game, thanks for being one of the Imps best LBs ever (That’s based on 50 years watching the Imps).”

sedgleyimp: “Decent performances across the board but I’ve gone for Akinde. 1-1 when he came on. Made an instant menace of himself allowing Tyler a bit more space for his goal. Two good finishes late on. Bolton defenders could not handle him. Top stuff.”

Riiiiik: “Difficult decision. Morrell’s run to carve open the Bolton defence in the 2nd half was pure class but some of Toff’s movements were also exquisite.

Akinde was awesome too but gone for Toff. He might not be here to win another MoM and I’m just a big softie.”
