Following the 1-0 win at home versus Leyton Orient in League One, I asked the Vital Lincoln City members to nominate who they believe was City’s Man of the Match. On this occasion, four players were nominated within 24 hours following the thread being started. Those players were: Alex Mitchell, Ben House, Lukas Jensen and Paudie O’Connor. Thank you to those who voted on the poll!

Following the nominations, we opened the poll up to everyone and this is how it finished:

Here are some of the views from the nominations thread:

hulloutpost: “Mitchell was prominent (in yet another clean sheet), where nobody stood out massively. All action at the back and tried to drive forward to create some momentum or spark on a number of occasions. Gets my nomination.

Makama obviously wins the ‘champagne moment’ in the game, which will be up there for the season overall. Could it yet be topped in May?”

PerthImp: “Really weird – last three games very difficult to pick MoM because everyone was so good, but this time most were (relatively) poor so still difficult. Would love to give it to Jovon as his goal contribution (completely worked and finished by himself) changed the game completely and won us the three invaluable points, but he just wasn’t on long enough.

Has to go to a defender – between Paudie and Mitchell -I’ll go for ALEX MITCHELL – terrific all-round contribution and would love to sign him permanently. So much passion and fight, but I don’t think Millwall will let us have him if we go up.”

johnolbe: “Match-winning contributions from Jensen and Jovan but Mitchell and Paudie repelled virtually everything launched forward. I’ll go for Captain Paudie by a whisker, his upturn in form since his 4-game suspension has been significant in our play-off surge.”
