Following the 1-0 win at home versus Exeter City in League One, I asked the Vital Lincoln City members to nominate who they believe was City’s Man of the Match. On this occasion, four players were nominated within 24 hours following the thread being started. Those players were: Ben House, Conor McGrandles, Teddy Bishop and Ethan Erhahon. Thank you to those who voted!

Following the nominations, we opened the poll up to everyone and this is how it finished:

Here are some of the views from the nominations thread:

hulloutpost: “Conor McG – Before Bishop came on he stood out, in that you don’t notice him kind of way. While everybody else didn’t know what to do with the ball or couldn’t execute, he was an oasis of quality.

Mobility and pitch coverage, great intelligent positions, looking to be progressive, short sharp runs on the half turn, forward accurate passes, did his defensive shift off the ball. Not his fault that for the first hour, it kept breaking down ahead of him after his good work. Helped out immeasurably and was probably relieved to see Bishop came on and able to take that quality a bit higher up the pitch for him.”

johnolbe: “Ted Bishop. Game changer, looked a simple pass to Taylor but how many others would have played it perfectly with perfect timing so Taylor didn’t have to hold his run or stray offside? The first thought is to play forward and he changed the momentum of the game.”

Pompeyimp2: “I’m going for Ben House – never stops running and his closing down forces the opposition to hurry and make mistakes. Ted made a big difference when he came on but Ben was at it for the full shift”
