Following the 3-0 defeat versus Bolton Wanderers in League One at the Toughsheet Community Stadium, I asked our members to nominate who they believed was City’s Man of The Match. Debutant Ethan Hamilton unsurprisingly received several nominations, and the other player to receive a nomination was Danny Mândroiu.

Following the 24-hour period members had to provide their one nomination each, we started our poll, which is open for everyone to vote, even if you’re not a member of Vital Lincoln City. Thank you to those that voted!

Here’s how the poll finished:

Comments from our Match Thread:

imps_joe: “Liked the look of Hamilton who got around the pitch well.”

Scotimp: “Hamilton looks excellent and was chopped down every time he got the ball – Bolton obviously remembered him getting the winner for Accrington at the Toughsheep at the end of last season.”

Comments from our Nominations Thread:

TrickyImps: “Comfortable on the ball and competitive in the 50:50s. Tried to be positive.

Showed some nice touches, too.”

Chesterimp: “Hard to see beyond Ethan Hamilton, looks a good midfielder, built like McGrandles but clearly strong in the tackle, solid on the ball, can pass and run.”

Thank you to Chris Vaughan and Lincoln City Football Club for the article photograph!

What date did the two sides meet at Bolton last season?

Ethan Hamilton played for Wanderers on loan from Man Utd a few years ago. He did well. He then played for Accrington (and scored) against us last season. He has a great left foot shot. I’ve always liked and rated him but on Saturday, far from being hacked down every time he got the ball, he was diving all over the place as he was absolutely swamped by Bolton’s midfield.
