Following the 2-0 win away at Notts County in the First Round of the League Cup, I asked the Vital Lincoln City members to nominate who they thought was City’s Man of The Match. The three players who received at least one nomination were Alistair Smith, Danny Mândroiu and Reeco Hackett-Fairchild. Thank you to those that voted!

Following the nominations, we opened the poll up to everyone and this is how it finished:

Views from the nominations thread:

imps1: “Danny M for me.

The lad has so much class and attacking-wise looked a threat all night. He looks like he has some pace which I cannot remember seeing before and he was always looking to make something happen. It didn’t always come off but you can see the awareness and quality he possesses.

Although Reeco ran him very close to my Man of the Match.”

PerthImp: “Saw the whole game on iFollow today. Danny Mandriou for me. He played some absolutely majestic stuff and was seemingly at the centre of the most effective attacks. Pure quality.”

Imprest1: “Mandriou. Not only is he an intelligent, creative player, he was also showing a bit of pace. Nice to see him still making a great forward pass in the 94th minute. Only thing missing was a goal.

Also great to see Hackett combining well up front.”

August 2023:

Bolton Wanderers (a): Ethan Hamilton: 74 votes (89%), Danny Mândroiu: 9 votes (11%).
