Top of the pile for the second month in a row is ADAM JACKSON, also becoming the first player to top the ratings twice this season. Jacko has formed a dominant partnership with Alex Mitchell at the heart of defence, leading to calls for him to be named captain on a permanent basis.

ETHAN ERHAHON takes second place after worryingly missing the Blackpool game through injury. The arrival of a creative midfielder to take advantage of Erhahon’s defensive ability could yet change the direction of City’s faltering season.

In third place is ALEX MITCHELL, who has made himself a fan favourite through his commitment and that growing partnership with Jackson. The two centre backs are turning the VLC Player of the Season title into a two-horse race.

An honourable mention this month to Freddie Draper, who returned with weight of expectation on his shoulders after successful loan spells at Drogheda and Walsall. Freddie’s return has finally given opposition defences something to worry about after four less-than-effective months in front of goal.

The average team rating of 6.54 is the highest since September despite not winning a single game.
