The Vital Lincoln City members’ voted for whom they believe was The Imps Man of The Match in their 2-0 win at home against Derby County in League One.

Views from Chesterimp: “Diamond won and converted the penalty, set up the 2nd, terrorised the Derby defence all night and topped it all of with a fair shift defensively and off the ball. Still, a work in progress with pace, strength and skill but occasional shaky moments typified in the second half by a poor first touch, a battle won for the second and third to tenth which left defenders floundering.

Roughan showed his improvement and maturity against a good winger compared with Hamilton two seasons ago when MA basically lost faith.

House isn’t Hopper (who else is?) but reduced Derby’s wooden defence to splinters with his pressing and deserved his goal.”

More views from our poll thread:

sedgleyimp: “Diamond will probably get much of the votes on this but I’m going for Sean Roughan who is developing into a really good player. Mendez-Laing was a real test for him tonight and he stood up exceptionally well throughout. The first choice left back now I’d suggest”

berksimps: “Roughan for me, from Diamond. Sean’s best performance in a City shirt. Outstanding defending with well-timed tackles, good positioning and excellent decision-making. He should keep that shirt. Special mention to Rushworth who is some keeper at this level.”

PerthImp: “Diamond for his match-winning performance, but Roughan played ML superbly and is really starting to show his development. Could be our latest transfer in the young development player mould (at the end of the season please).”
