Which club did Wigan replace in the Football League in 1978?

Views from the Match Thread ahead of kick-0ff:

JT_LCFC: “Looking forward to tonight, frustrating not to win any game but in my opinion, we correctly rested Montsma, Jackson, Bridcutt, Hopper and limited game time for Grant and Jones at the weekend.

If we are to keep amongst it, these are the type of games where we need to pick up the 3 points.”

simes69: “Looking forward to this one. We haven’t played Wigan in ages. I hope we have Bridcutt and Montsma back, and I expect (dangerous I know!) a 2-0 win.”

Chesterimp: “The first of several seemingly “winnable” games this month, so the challenge will be to break down a side who will be set up to defend. Likely to be a test of patience and stamina, and that’s just for those of us watching!”
