City's 2-0 win over Charlton on 27 September 2020 was the first league meeting between the clubs since which season?

Views from the Match Thread ahead of kick-0ff:

sedgleyimp: “This has the feel of a pre-season game for us. A game to prepare for the bigger ones ahead. A win would be nice, but something which isn’t essential.

Charlton really have to win to keep them in with any chance of that last PO place. A draw will do them no good. Should lead to an open game.”

Chesterimp: “Charlton, with their points tally and slightly inferior goal difference, really need the win tonight to keep their hopes alive. Their recent form looks inconsistent, 1 win in 5 with 3 draws.

That should provide counter-attacking opportunities and we have the pace to exploit that.

Blackpool ‘should’ win their last two games for 80 points, we still need two wins (or possibly one good win and a draw) to finish higher than them if that happens. But, stuff happens and with the pressure of securing a play-off place gone, squad protection and mental attitude will have an effect. I’d personally like to see us avoid Sunderland in the semis which will probably need those two wins.

But hey, we’re in the League 1 Play-offs with 2 games to go, so that might be overthinking it!”

Scotimp: “We definitely need to keep the momentum going, which means a good performance and ideally a win are of some significance. As for it being a tough one, on paper it is one of our easiest away games of the season:

Charlton home record: P21 W6 D7 L8 F32 A36 Pts25

Only three teams in League One have won fewer home games than Charlton (Shrewsbury, Rochdale and Wigan). They have taken only four points more than the side with the worst home record in the division (Wigan).

Lincoln away record: P22 W13 D6 L3 F33 A17 Pts45

As highlighted this week, Lincoln are actually having the best season away from home in the club’s history, smashing records left, right and centre. They have the best away record in League One, and a win tonight will ensure they finish the season with the best – see below for more records to look out for.”
