Following Saturday’s 0-0 draw away at Portsmouth in League One, I asked the Vital Lincoln City members what three things they learned from the match.

Here’s what Casperimp said:

1. We are far more organised in defense this season and it’s refreshing to see the whole team working as a defensive unit from the front to the back. The changed structure and style are evident to see and on the basis of the first 2 matches, we will be hard to beat this season if we can keep those levels of performance. With several attacking players yet to come in when fitness allows I still think we will score some goals so the defensive base should put us in a good place.

2. Players have clearly responded to MK and his coaching and man management abilities as players have said on numerous occasions and the group are clearly buying into his management philosophy. The players seem galvanized this season with smiles on their faces and it shows. The fitness levels are clearly vastly improved this season and despite the heat on Saturday we kept going to the end. Perhaps all the investment in the likes of Ross Burberry etc will ultimately pay off.

3. Lastly and according to many fans, we desperately needed a defensive midfield enforcer. Well, step forward Lasse Sørensen what a revelation he has been this season and just shows what one manager can get out of a player that another cannot and long may it continue.
