He received an average rating of 7.33 following the 2-1 win away at Wigan Athletic earlier this season. Some of the comments can be found below:

sedgleyimp: “Honestly far more good than bad…to disallow their handball goal was the correct decision and one others could easily have missed. He handled the minor fracas fine and didn’t get over-excited by them.

Couple of incorrect fouls given I thought. Poole made a great tackle in the first half and was penalised. Late in the game it looked like a foul on Draper.

Certainly gets a big thumbs up for that no goal decision so an above average of 7/10 for me.”

Chesterimp: “He missed the handball and got the home crowd on his back as result when having given the goal, Maguire persuaded the lino to have a word and then disallow it.

That racked up the tension though he managed to keep some sort of lid on it.

Then seemed to favour the home side including two truly awful decisions against us, penalising a great tackle by Poole and not giving the penalty for the clear foul on Draper.

A generous 3 for not allowing the match to run out of control having laid the foundations for that to happen.”

berksimps: “A combative game with both sides going for it, so a more difficult game than usual to ref. Thought he did well, changing his original decision for their handball goal, got control back when he could have lost it, allowed hard tackling but missed our decent penalty shout. 8/10.”
