Ahead of tomorrow’s match at home against Oxford United in League One, I asked the Vital Lincoln City members what three things they think The Imps need to do to pick up all three points.

Here’s what Rasenimp said:

1. We need to be more robust in midfield – that midfielder scored a hat-trick against us last time. The first I remember all came from a ball that Bridcutt forced into Sorensen who was on the backfoot, much like the goal we conceded against MK dons on boxing day when it was forced into Fiorini. We can’t be weak and fluffy in there, and the first goal put us on the back foot early.

2. I know people are always like ‘where is the plan B but didn’t we try basically Bishop and Sorensen as strikers/false 9s against them and it was a total disaster in that game? I’m not saying play exactly the way we have done lately, but getting Whittaker/Scully for example high up the pitch would seem preferable!

3. Stop the long shots. I feel like we didn’t close them down properly on the edge of the area and they just peppered Griffiths from distance, which was two of the goals. Bridcutt/McGrandles need to be all over them.
