Views from Scotimp following last night’s 2-1 defeat away at Oxford United in League One:

Just to offer some balance:

Covid victims
Walsh
Montsma
Jones
Anderson
Hopper

Now add
Jackson
Morton

That is seven members of our first team affected by Covid.

At least three of the original five have not even come close to their pre-Covid form. If anyone can assure me that Covid has no short/medium/long-term effects on the performance of an elite athlete, I will agree that those players have been a disgrace instead of desperately unlucky.

Now the injuries
Walsh (6 weeks)
Walsh (6 weeks and counting)
Grant (4 weeks and counting)
Hopper (will miss the final 7 weeks)
Morton (6 months)
Bridcutt (4 weeks)
Bridcutt (5 weeks)
Bridcutt (5 weeks)
McGrandles (6 weeks)
Anderson (6 weeks)
Jackson (5 weeks)
Archibald (5 weeks)
Howarth (4 weeks)
Montsma (4 weeks)

Plus countless examples of players struggling on with injuries because we have no one else.

I defy any club in League One to have come through that lot without it affecting their season.

Sorry to interrupt. Time for some more ranting.
