Imps League One Fixtures Revealed – “Interesting opening month.”, “That set of fixtures will do me!”

|

During the first month of the Sky Bet League One campaign, The Imps will place Accrington Stanley (h), Rotherham United (a), Southend United (h), Milton Keynes Dons (a), Doncaster Rovers (a) and Fleetwood Town (h).

The draw for Round One of the Carabao Cup will be made at 19:00. You can follow that draw live on our “Carabao Cup Round One Draw Thread”.

My views: I’m pleased that we have a home game to start the 2019/20 season. I’ve never seen Lincoln City in the third division of English football, so starting the campaign at home at a full Sincil Bank will be special. It would be great to get off to a winning start, but it is going to be a very tough season.

I was hoping that Portsmouth away would be on a Saturday because I would have been staying somewhere on the Friday and Saturday to break the journey down and relax, but unfortunately, that isn’t the case. However, I will try my best to get to all of the League and Cup matches, as I did last season.

Reaction on 100% Imps:

Snats: “Interesting opening month – three very winnable home fixtures but a couple of difficult away trips. Hope to see a good turnout at Rotherham.

The only disappointment is Sunderland on 4 January – FA Cup third round weekend. If one or both of us reach the third round, that’ll end up being a midweek game.”

Luke Imp: “If we were home on Boxing Day, we’d have had the full sweep of the opening date, Boxing Day, New Years Day, final game.

Portsmouth home and away on Tuesday nights? Sunderland away is on FA Cup weekend, I think? If so, that has the potential to be a Tuesday night, too.

That middle section, December and January, are tough.”

WellingtonImp: “That set of fixtures will do me! Lovely.”

berksimps: “Some great early away games for the southern Imps: MK Dons, Wycombe, Peterborough and then Portsmouth.

Portsmouth on a Tuesday night, it’s the stuff of dreams; not so long since a night trip took us to Welling!!”
