Imps Linked With Jorge Grant – “Think he would be a good addition.”, “I’d love to see him sign for us.”

|

In the last few days, Oxford United and Lincoln City have been linked with Jorge Grant, who currently has a year left on his contract at Championship club Nottingham Forest.

Grant made his competitive debut for Nottingham Forest in the first round of the League Cup at Tranmere Rovers in August 2014, before going on to put Forest ahead in the third round of the League Cup against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.

His last senior appearance at the City Ground came in a 2-0 defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers in December 2016.

During the last few seasons, Grant has had loan spells with Notts County, Luton Town and Mansfield Town.

Reaction on 100% Imps:

RedImp73: “Definitely – think he would be a good addition. Flitcroft’s negative tactics were never going to get the best out of him. Strikes me as a player that in the right environment and with the right manager could really flourish – and we can offer both of those.”

60sIMP: “I thought he looked an excellent signing when he went to Mansfield but Flitcroft failed miserably to get the best or anything remotely close to his best from him. Iā€™d love to see him sign for us.”

hulloutpost: “Perhaps signing the likes of Jorge and Boldewijn would signal the risk needed to get value for our budget and make us competitive on the pitch. Good players with known attributes and possibly areas requiring character development that ordinarily may be out of our reach. The Cowleys may steer clear of too many players that require a lot of man management but as the quality to budget ratio gets squeezed will they gamble a bit more on one or two like that.”
