Ahead of Tuesday night’s match at home against Gillingham in League One, I asked the Vital Lincoln City members what three things they think The Imps need to do to pick up all three points.

You can discuss what has been said in this article HERE, as well as many other topics on our 100% Imps forum! We have also published a Lincoln City v Gillingham Quiz, which can be found just below the three things. Every page view helps raise money for Lincoln City Football Club!

Here’s what hulloutpost said:

1. Forget the scoreboard pressure, treat the game with the mental freshness of an early-season game where simply accruing points was all that was at stake. Whatever the psychological approach has been whilst looking at the top of the league – change it, it’s not working.

2. If Liam Bridcutt is 90% match fit and 90% physically fit, he plays; it really is that simple.

3. Turn up for a home game especially in the first half. Gillingham will come and battle, perhaps a good scrap is what we need. MA needs to identify the 11 players that are least affected by a loss of confidence and tell them to get out there and do what they are good at.

If Gillingham score a worldie, their keeper has the game of his life or the referee has a stinker there’s nothing the players can do about that; but they can tap into what they are best at and ensure they deliver that, which they can control.

If they concern themselves with imposing their own game, stopping the opposition, then at least we will firstly see a good performance and secondly, they then give themselves a chance of a positive result to follow.

The players have been too passive, barely even been reactive in the last three halves of football. That has to stop.
