When I started the poll to ask our members who they thought The Imps Man of the Match was in the 1-0 win away at Northampton Town, I always knew there was only going to be one winner.

Right up until just before the poll deadline The Imps new number one goalkeeper Josh Vickers had 100% of the votes until a vote came in for Neal Eardley, taking Vickers to 97.2% and Neal Eardley to 2.8%.

Josh Vickers was outstanding on Saturday. He made some very good saves, including a few one on ones, the best of which I believe was the one in the final few minutes of the match. When Vickers made that save the cheer from the away end was very loud!

Here’s how the poll finished:

Vickers: 35 votes – 97.2%
Waterfall: 0 votes – 0.0%
Wharton: 0 votes – 0.0%
Frecklington: 0 votes – 0.0%
Green: 0 votes – 0.0%
Toffolo: 0 votes – 0.0%
Wilson: 0 votes – 0.0%
Bostwick: 0 votes – 0.0%
McCartan: 0 votes – 0.0%
Eardley: 1 vote – 2.8%
Akinde: 0 votes – 0.0%
Andrade: 0 votes – 0.0%
Anderson: 0 votes – 0.0%
Rhead: 0 votes – 0.0%

Some of the other comments:

Impalex: “Best performance by any ‘keeper wearing a Lincoln shirt that I have seen in 55 years!”

berksimps: “Vickers by a country mile for us.

Crooks, their 22, was the best outfield player. Acted as the playmaker and comfortably bossed the midfield.”

Stevie_imp: “Vickers was on fire. With some sloppy defending in front of him, he saved the day. Without him, we would have been 3 down.”
