He received an average rating of 8.425 following the 3-0 win at home against Cheltenham Town last season. Some of the comments can be found below:

sedgleyimp: “I’ll kick off with an impressive 8.5. His decision to book their player for the dive to try and get a penalty early doors set the tone for what was a very good display. I might have gone higher if the game was in any way a difficult one to referee. He can come back again.”

Scotimp: “No errors to speak of, let the game run where possible and allowed the players to challenge (not that Cheltenham seemed too bothered with such irrelevancies). 9.”

evenstephen: “One of the better ones and tried to play the advantage rule for both sides when it was possible. I thought we might have been given a spot-kick but generally, I thought he had a decent game. 7.5.”

Simon Mather was the man in the middle or 32 matches last season, showing 137 yellow cards and 10 red cards.

He was just a little card happy in the League One encounter between AFC Wimbledon and Sunderland (1-1), showing 12 yellow cards and 1 red card.

Mather oversaw a total of 23 matches during the 2020/21 season. In those matches, he showed 65 yellow cards and 7 red cards.
