August 2021 Player Ratings

Which of our 23 squad players has impressed the most this month? An old hand? A brash newcomer? Time to find out.

Well, it’s an old hand. LIAM BRIDCUTT finishes top of the pile after an excellent start to the season. This bodes well, considering Bridcutt also topped the ratings in May.

A brash newcomer takes second place for August in the shape of Ipswich ‘reject’ TED BISHOP. Many thought Lincoln could not replace Horhay in midfield, but did Cheaterborough sign the wrong midfielder from League One? Flabby Fry, you might have been watching the wrong player.

In third place, we have seven-goal ANTHONY SCULLY. Not literally on fire, of course, but blazing a trail towards the top of the League One scoring charts. Our first million-pound transfer looks to be in the offing come January, but exactly how many millions will it be? Scully is only four goals short of thirty for the Imps in less than a season and a half.

Honourable mentions for Lewis Fiorini in his first season in senior football, and for the now-departed Tayo Edun – thanks for everything, Tayo. Left-back Cohen Bramall has emerged as our best winger so far, but can Lincoln turn him into a defender’s nightmare rather than a defensive one?
