Ahead of today’s game against Exeter City in Sky Bet League Two, we did a Q&A with one of their supporters.

Last season The Imps lost 1-0 at St. James’ Park against Exeter City in front of a crowd of 3,980 at St. James’ Park and won 3-2 in front of a 9,785 at Sincil Bank against them.

How long have you supported Exeter City?

55+ years.

Where did you finish last season?

I think Lincoln supporters know that the furthest we got was winning the playoff semi-final after finishing fourth.

What do you think of your Manager?

A legend as a player for us, saying all the right things, has won early matches. All the indications are good, seven matches into his managerial career.

What are your hopes and expectations for this season?

One better than losing two successive playoff finals is the hope. The realistic expectation is, after all the upheaval, to challenge in the top half of the table.

One(s) to watch?

Stockley scores the goals.

Who do you think will finish in the top 7?

The usual suspects; those who just missed out last time and one or two if the relegated sides. Forest Green Rovers as a wild card.

Who do you think will finish in the bottom 2?

Morecambe and Macclesfield.

What are your thoughts on Lincoln City?

My tip for winning this league. I am really pleased for those fans who stuck with the club during the years in the Conference. Think the air raid siren should be ditched.

What do you think the score will be?

2-1 (but to whom?).

What will your likely default formation and style of play be for this season?

The manager has declared a running style and 4-4-2. We have played with two up top every game so far.

Random fact about your Club?

Our last two promotions were on the back of late-season wins at Sincil Bank.

If you could steal one Lincoln City player for your own team, who would it be and why?

Quite a few to pick from including Bostwick, but the easy choice would be Akinde.

What are your proudest and most embarrassing moments as an Exeter City Supporter?

Simultaneously proud and embarrassed to be the only person on the away terrace at Sincil Bank at an evening game in the 1980s. I had, solely for me, two turnstiles, two policemen, a programme seller and half a tea hut. And plenty of space. We lost 4-1 to IIRC a Gordon Hobson hattrick.

Who would you say is your most underrated player?

35 year old left back Craig Woodman was underrated by the fans. And then the manager said he was playing in 2017 ‘like Beckenbauer’. Nowadays Jordan Tillson, who breaks things up in midfield very effectively.

Do you have a Supporters Trust and what role do they play at the Club?

We own our football club and have done so for more than a decade.

Which was your favourite match involving Exeter City?

Spurs 6 City 3 in 1968 closely followed by Man Utd 0 City 0 in 2005, the money from which saved the club from extinction.

Which was your least favourite match involving Exeter City?

The 7-1 defeats were hard to take both at home to Brentford and away At Scunthorpe. But I now really hate losing at Wembley.
