The Vital Lincoln City members’ voted for whom they believe was The Imps Man of The Match in their 3-0 win away at Exeter City in Sky Bet League Two.

Views from Impalex: “The whole team played well, to be fair. I went for Frecklington as I thought he looked so much in charge of the midfield and is clearly fitter and hungrier than last season. That is probably down to the different style of play this time around (i.e. no Rhead). Freck and Akinde’s double one-two for the first goal was sublime.

Akinde a very close second followed by Andrade whose pass to Toffolo was in the Marriott to Arnold mould.”

Here’s how the poll finished:

Smith: 0 votes – 0.0%
O’Connor: 0 votes – 0.0%
Shackell: 0 votes – 0.0%
Pett: 0 votes – 0.0%
Frecklington: 5 votes – 18.5%
Andrade: 0 votes – 0.0%
Toffolo: 0 votes – 0.0%
Bostwick: 0 votes – 0.0%

Stevie_imp: “Not easy as several players had a very good game. Bostwick was a huge presence in defence. Freck had a good game as did Andrade. However, Akinde was a real handful for Exeter and looked much more mobile than in recent games. Combined with a good goal he just edges my MOTM.”

PerthImp: “Really difficult this week – could be any one of three or four players. Bostwick, Freck, Akinde, and I thought O’Connor had a very good game. Vey controlled, great defensively and good close control under pressure, and some excellent passes. On balance I’ll go for Freck as he really got about the pitch, played well defensively and attacking, plus scoring a great goal, which he started the move and started the momentum to win.”

berksimps: “Akinde by some margin for me, he was brilliant.

Freck and Andrade had particularly good games but really it was the way the whole team gelled after 30 minutes and put on such a positive attacking performance that made us so dominant. By the end, Exeter were scared, had lost all shape and did not know what to do with the ball.”
