The last time The Imps hosted tomorrow’s opponents Sheffield Wednesday was on Saturday 5th March 2022, in front of a crowd of 10,283. City won 3-1 that day, thanks to goals scored by John Marquis (3′, 76′) and Brooke Norton-Cuffy (62′), with Saido Berahino scoring for the visitors (33′).

Ahead of tomorrow’s match, we have done a Q&A with a Sheffield Wednesday supporter, so thank you to Greg for answering our questions!

You can discuss what has been said in this article HERE, as well as get involved with our pre-match threads: You can post your score predictions, discuss the starting XI, and predict the attendance!

How long have you supported Sheffield Wednesday?

Feels like a lifetime lately! Reality is about 20 years, used to play rugby on a Saturday but a broken tib and fib along with a 5-hour operation put an end to that so one of my uni friends invited me along to a Wednesday match and I was hooked from that point onwards!

Where did you finish last season?

A lowly 4th, far too low for a club of this six and the depth in the squad.

What do you think of your manager?

Severely lacks tactical knowledge but is a great bloke and a real motivator/man manager.

What were/are your hopes and expectations for the 2022/23 season?

The only aim is promotion.

One(s) to watch?

Captain Fantastic Barry Bannan is just far too good for League One. Warhorse Lee Gregory has found his scoring boots again. Ben Heneghan has been colossal as our CB. Safe Hands Stockdale oozes calmness and is the king of winding up the opposition fans!

Which teams do you think will finish in the top six in League One?

I think Plymouth will fall away (again) if they lose their manager (again) to a Championship club (again), Ipswich have bags of cash and have some random defeats (like last week V a team beginning with L – wonder who they were :)), my top 6 are; Ipswich, Wednesday, Derby, Peterborough, Portsmouth, Plymouth.

Which teams do you think will finish in the bottom four in League One?

Morecambe, Forest Green, Cheltenham, and surprisingly MK Dons.

What are your thoughts on Lincoln City?

Incredible win last week, hope it was just a one-off, sounds like a superb defensive display. Mid-table is just about right for Lincoln.

What do you think the score will be?

Hopefully, 1-3 but would settle for a smash-and-grab 0-1 victory.

Random fact about your Club?

The owner Dejphon Chansiri’s family own John West Tuna.

If you could steal one Lincoln City player for your own team, who would it be and why?

Ben House because he scored the winner last week!

What are your proudest and most embarrassing moments as a Sheffield Wednesday supporter?

Embarrassing is the owner’s reluctance to put the old kit on any decent sale and we end up stockpiling old merchandise. Proudest was getting promoted out of League One overturning a 9-point deficit from our closest rivals.

Who would you say is your most underrated player?

Liam Palmer, one man club (apart from a development loan), Sheffield lad, loves the club, and should be in the Scotland team.

Do you have a Supporters Trust and what role do they play at the Club?

Early development but getting a stronger voice.

Which was your favourite match involving Sheffield Wednesday?

Wycombe 2012 at home on the final day of the League One season to get promoted.

Which was your least favourite match involving Sheffield Wednesday?

Sunderland at home in playoffs last season.

Do you have a Former Players Association at Sheffield Wednesday?

Unsure.

The signing of Ben Heneghan the CB from Wimbledon on a free transfer looked like a strange signing for a promotion-chasing team. He seems to play every game for you, how is he doing?

Agree with the person posing the question and so did some of the local media as well. Made little sense. He’s been colossal; possibly our best signing of the season. Played the main part in our defensive turnaround. A giant in the air. One of the top defenders for aerial duels in the league. He has really stepped up to the plate.
