Following the 1-0 defeat at home versus Premier League side West Ham United in the Third Round of the League Cup, I asked the Vital Lincoln City members to nominate who they believe was City’s Man of the Match. On this occasion, six players were nominated in the 24 hours following the thread being started. Those players were: Sean Roughan, Ethan Hamilton, Lasse Sørensen, Jack Burroughs, Lukas Jensen and Alex Mitchell.
You can now vote for which of the four you believe was The Imps Man of The Match in the poll at the bottom! A screenshot of the poll will be taken 24 hours after it was started for the result!
Here are some of the views from the nominations thread:
Long suffering Imp: “Roughan for me, made an error early on and spent the rest of the match making up for it. Apologies to our midfielders but sitting low down behind the goal is always going to focus your attention on the defence and attack, it’s difficult sometimes to appreciate what’s going on in midfield. Given the option, I think every player in an Imps shirt deserved an award. Left the game being defeated but felt like a win.”
hulloutpost: “Lasse Sorensen – West Ham had their hands full with somebody possessing PL levels of stamina and running. He had them on edge all evening.”
Riiiiik: “Jensen for me. Pulled off some great saves again and looking better every week. Just a shame he didn’t get the chance to perform his penalty-saving heroics after full-time.”
