Following tonight’s 4-0 win at home against Scunthorpe United in a pre-season friendly. I asked our members what three things they learned from the match.
Here’s what Chesterimp said:
1. First, and in these times of closed doors and limited capabilities, tonight highlighted the importance of good quality and reliable streaming. That was absent tonight and there’s been a lot of anger and frustration expressed in the match thread. Going forward, at least this was temporary but iFollow needs to be robust and have good responsive support. We also need a technical advice thread on here, I picked up and followed some of the suggestions and was lucky to have good coverage for most of the game. We did score 4!
Match comments need to be tempered by noting that Scunthorpe were awful.
2. However, we looked good in dealing with what was in front of us – quicker, more aggressive, composed on the ball and good support for the player in possession which is essential for this style of play. That applied to all players, I realised when JAS’s first touch as a sub trapped the ball 10 yards out for a throw that it was the first obvious mistouch I’d registered. JAS redeemed himself a few minutes later with a superb through ball for Hopper’s goal.
3. We have some terrific young players, Sean Roughan at 17 really stood out. If a ‘stick or loan’ trial, stick – he’s first-team ready. The likes of Edun, Bradley, TJ and Elbouzedi all impressed, there is some serious quality there.
