Yesterday The Imps announced the signing of former Celtic, Brentford and Macclesfield Town player Theo Archibald. He is a product of the Celtic academy and has been capped by Scotland at youth level. Below you will find the reaction to the signing from one of our members, Gratzimp.

First off welcome Theo. Yet another youngster, that, fortunately, has a fair amount of experience under his belt. It seems that Michael Appleton is building a squad for the future, rather than the present, which as long as we can survive a VERY tough league this season, can only bode well for the club, as long as we can keep the young team together.

Theo is by all accounts, pacy and determined, not afraid to shoot, the right physique, but above all else, left-footed, which is something we are in short supply of. He can though play on the right also, which will give competition for Harry, whom I thought went off the boil a bit last season. It is a very good addition ON PAPER, to a team who should be pretty strong ON PAPER. However, we are still lacking in a finisher, as our pre-season friendlies have shown (Can’t really comment too much on Leicester as no clue on who played).

We now have what looks to be one of the youngest squads in the whole division, yet there is still a reasonable amount of experience from those youngsters. It can be a good thing as they will all want to prove their worth. Think Theo will be a very good addition and can see him being in the first eleven.

Tonight’s game against Scunny will be a very good barometer, for the whole squad, local rivals, physical side, lower division, who have played together more.

Don’t expect Theo to play the whole game, but expect him to start, to win us fans over he (and the other newbies) needs to put in a shift and show us what he can do (like he did with Forest Green Rovers). Looking forward to following the game tonight, to see just how much time this squad needs to gel together.
