“We deserved one or two more but a thoroughly professional and satisfying victory.”

Views from hulloutpost following Friday night’s 1-0 win at home against Yeovil Town: “Very content with that. Much better home tempo tonight and could see what we were trying to do tactically. A bit better decision making in the final third and finishing in the first half and we would have had a comfortable lead but that’s not a criticism purely an observation. Rheady won anything remotely within his gravitational field. Second half we kept the tempo up both before and after the goal with Rowe looking very sharp when he came on – we did not sit back on the lead whether that was down to our intentions or Yeovil limitations I don’t know but it was good to see. They were never going to score, we deserved one or two more but a thoroughly professional and satisfying victory.”

More views from the Match Thread:

JT_LCFC: “Thought we had total control tonight, and probably the only thing lacking was the final ball and we should have made the game more comfortable.

Yeovil were up there with Morecambe, they were very poor and determined to time waste from minute 1. We defended well, and Gilks hardly had a save to make.

If one of the others slip up tomorrow, a win Tuesday could be pivotal.”

Snats: “Scoreline makes it look closer than it was. If Anderson and Akinde put those chances away in the first half, as they should, then we’d have been 2-0 up at the break and could have added a few more in the second half. Goalscoring continues to be a problem, luckily it didn’t cost us today because Yeovil were atrocious. God bless those hardy 154 who travelled up from Somerset, that’s proper dedication.”

Gaz_Imp: “Should have been 2-3 goals to 0 really, we were always in control even without the ball. Thought we were more attacking than we have been at home recently but often struggled with final ball/shot. Strange has been plenty of games where we’ve not got forward as much as fans probably like but been very clinical when chances have come.

Think we’ve finally found out central midfield pair, would have O’Connor as MOTM and O’Hara did well. Bostwick also had a superb game.”
