‘Great win and good to see a larger scoreline at the Bank! Never seen us score 3 goals from 3 corners in the same match before! Love it!!!’

‘Talk about a game of two halves! Tomlinson and Newton were the standout performers, Power’s corners were just brilliant – he must have been practising – and Dixon used his height to great effect. All in all a satisfying victory, and credit to Simmo for the massive second-half improvement.’

‘First half was pretty forgetful. The odd shot here and there and an absolute peach of a drilled cross from Newton that just missed Wright and Power. Didn’t help starting 4-4-2, which we haven’t got the players to do. That said, we did change back to our normal formation after 15 minutes or so.

I usually match the teams up as they line-up to shake hands and did think they looked on the small side and so it proved with the 3 goals from corners.’

‘Just got back in and seen the score. Great news that we got the 3 points and made the score look comfortable.

Get the impression it wasn’t a complete performance but you can’t argue with the result, which makes our home form look pretty impressive!’

‘Finely balanced match until we got our second. We always looked more dangerous but there were moments in that first half when a better team would have punished some poor defending.

Brown and Boyce are a very good partnership, and an excellent platform for the whole defence. Newton and Miller got forward well, but rarely got caught out.

Tomlinson was just amazing. I have NEVER seen a footballer cover as much ground in 90 minutes as he does. Needs to watch his lip though.’

‘Absolutely forgettable performance first half. Nothing much more to say than that. Second half was much better and after an early first goal it was good to see The Imps put them to the sword. For me Tomlinson, Power and Jordan were the best players on the pitch for us. Wright needs to sort himself out pretty quickly for me. He was poor today. Won virtually nothing and got caught offside time after time. Would perhaps have been better if he was playing wide right or left and Tomlinson was playing down the middle. All in all can’t knock a 3-nil win at home though. Now for Nuneaton away. Who know what could happen there!!!’

‘Wright gets a lot of stick but let’s not forget this was his first start, I think. He also made several good runs down the left and got crosses in. Newton was excellent again, as was Power and Tomlinson deserved his goal. Also thought Jordan put a shift in and did well considering the stick he gets on here.’
