“Tyler Walker knows where the goal is but needs support.”

|

Following Friday night’s 2-1 defeat away at Blackpool in Sky Bet League One, we asked our members what three things they learned from the match.

Here’s what Jamesimp said:

1. We have to switch on quite literally when the whistle blows, it may have been a new manager but the team didn’t play, nor did the style of play, first 20 minutes we didn’t look like we could defend, it was just too easy.

2. We need 2 strikers, Tyler Walker knows where the goal is but needs support up front, he can’t be expected to win the ball forward with 3 players surrounding him, it comes back into midfield too easy. Payne is a good attacking midfielder but will not win many high balls, what he is good at is taking people on the floor with pace, he could play just behind 2 forwards effectively.

3. For all our possession passing it around the back four and defensive midfielders will not get us goals, the final ball into the box or out to the wingers was not good enough, it broke down before the possession counted. Despite the extra showing after going 2-0 down we never really looked like we would equalise.
