Great manager, one of the best outside the Premier League.

Who Are The League One Managers? No.8: Darren Moore (Doncaster Rovers)

What are your hopes and expectations for the 2020/21 season?

With the amount of competition we have in the squad we should be challenging for a play-off place however I just hope the run of games in such a short space of time don’t play a part

One(s) to watch?

Josh Sims – on loan from Southampton, can hell he has Premier League class, very quick and has been involved in goals in every game he has played apart from Plymouth on Tuesday.

Ben Whiteman. It says something we’re in difficult times and we’re turning down seven-figure bids from teams for him. Can dictate play so easily.

Peterborough, Fleetwood, Sunderland, Doncaster, Hull and Ipswich.

Which teams do you think will finish in the bottom four in League One?

Northampton, Shrewsbury, MK Dons and Wimbledon.

Good team, sit top of the league – says enough really.

Random fact about your Club?

We were the last team to win a major trophy at the Millennium Stadium before going back to Wembley.

If you could steal one Lincoln City player for your own team, who would it be and why?

It would have to be Liam Bridcutt. I love a person who isn’t afraid of a challenge and loves to get stuck in!

What are your proudest and most embarrassing moments as a Doncaster Rovers Supporter?

Either getting promoted to the Football League with a golden goal at Stoke against Dagenham or beating Leeds in front of over 75,000.

Who would you say is your most underrated player?

Danny Amos! An international footballer with a wand of a left foot.

Do you have a Supporters Trust and what role do they play at the Club?

Especially important role! Ran by the legend that is Paul Mayfield, won supporter of the year a few years back and they arrange coaches for all games home and away.

Which was your favourite match involving Doncaster Rovers?

Got to be beating Leeds at Wembley!

Which was your least favourite match involving Doncaster Rovers?

There’s too many to mention! But I’d probably say when we played reading away in the Championship about 10 years ago. We were 3-1 in the 80th minute and ended up losing 4-3.

Do you have a Former Players Association at Doncaster Rovers?

Not to my knowledge but they might do.

What is the best thing about Doncaster?

The exit? Kidding, probably the racecourse, a great day out!

Who, in your opinion, is Doncaster’s ultimate club cult hero?

He will be wearing 26 on Saturday. James Coppinger.

Do you consider matches against us to be a ‘Derby’ or just a geographically close one?

Personally, no but a lot of fans will disagree.

At almost 40, is James Coppinger’s presence in the squad down to sentiment, or is he still worth a place in the side?

Still worth a place! His skills are second to none and he can create goals out of nothing.

Has Madger Gomes’ form come as a surprise, considering he didn’t score at all last season?

Yes, it is! But a great surprise, long may it continue.

Do you think Ben Whiteman is likely to finish the season with Doncaster?

Yes, I do, however, if we don’t get promoted, I think he’ll leave.

How are Lincoln perceived by your fans – non-league upstarts, League One participants on merit or something else entirely?

We know Lincoln are a good team, the league table says it all and we know we will have to be at our best to beat you on Saturday.

Which Doncaster player has surprised you with their performances the most so far this season?

Madger Gomes.

Outside the Belle Vue ground in the 60s and 70s was a stall selling ‘granny teales humbugs’, or it might have been chestnuts. Can you tell me more about this? I’ve searched online in vain for information.

Didn’t even know that myself!
