Ahead of tomorrow’s match away at Gillingham in League One, I asked the Vital Lincoln City what three things they think The Imps need to do to pick up all three points.

You can discuss what Michael Appleton said earlier today HERE, as well as many other topics on our 100% Imps forum!

Here’s what syimp said:

1. First and foremost, to have any chance of beating the Gills, we must not be provoked by the ****housery that will surely come from any team coached by the execrable Evans.

Hopefully, with a slightly more experienced squad this season, we should have enough experience in the squad to head that off and not be drawn into fighting fire with fire.

2. We need to hit the ground running; not be a second-45-minute-team that we often were last season.

This may be difficult with the slightly peculiar pre-season we have “endured”; the chances are we will start with a number of players who’ve been here a while and integrate the newbies gradually.

3. Play on the front foot. Don’t allow them to dictate, push our fullbacks up the field, press them high to stop the service to Oliver and Akinde (fortunately, Graham has gone, so that’s one less thorn in our side to worry about). Not expecting miracles, just glad to see the boys back on the pitch.

Message to the fans:- If we lose tomorrow, doesn’t mean we are going to get relegated.
