Ahead of Tuesday night’s match versus Oxford United at Sincil Bank in League One, which will be refereed by Scott Tallis, we have done a Q&A with one of their supporters. Thank you to Dale from Vital Oxford United for answering our questions!

QUIZ: How much can you remember last season’s match between Lincoln City and Oxford United at Sincil Bank? Have a go at the quiz at the bottom of the page!

You can discuss what has been said in this article here, or in the comments section at the bottom, as well as get involved with the pre-match discussion!

How long have you supported Oxford United?

Just over 20 years.

What are your hopes and expectations for the 2023/24 season?

At the start of the season, I would have taken a top-half finish given the new manager. However, after a promising transfer window and bright start (despite not winning in the last three) there is no reason why we shouldn’t be able to finish in the play-offs.

What do you think of your manager?

He kept us up last season after a dreadful campaign under Karl Robinson. He has recruited well and plays an exciting style of football and the results have generally been good.

Style of play and tactics – direct/passing/hybrid?

Passing – from the back and build. He likes to stretch the play but the wingers have been ineffective in recent weeks.

One(s) to watch now and in the future?

Cameron Brannagan, although he has just come back from illness. Greg Leigh at left-back has five goals and is all over the pitch! Marcus McGuane gets better each game and Tyler Goodrham is an exciting youngster who is due a good performance.

Random fact about your Club?

We were the first club to win a major trophy (Milk Cup in 1986) to be relegated from the Football League.

Which were your favourite and least favourite matches involving Oxford United?

Any of our recent wins over Swindon.

The defeat against Leyton Orient which saw us relegated from the Football League.

Which sides do you think will finish in the top six and which will finish in the bottom four?

Portsmouth, Bolton, Oxford, Barnsley, Peterborough, Blackpool.

Reading, Cheltenham, Fleetwood and Northampton.

What are your thoughts on Lincoln City?

Always enjoyed watching Lincoln. Looked solid last season without being exciting. Be interesting to see how they get on under new management.

What is your prediction for this match?

2-1 Oxford.

1 of 10
