Ahead of tomorrow’s match against Forest Green Rovers in Sky Bet League Two, we asked our members what three things they think The Imps need to do to pick up all three points.

Here’s what UnbelievableJeff said:

1. The main emphasis is to start well, not like the whirling dervish, frenetic way we have a habit of doing so. Start well and build. Often we start with fervour and then fall away, inviting pressure. Then, heads dip and we begin to make unforced errors. If we score early….add to it and don’t sit back and allow sortie after sortie.

2. Do not take the fact that we have beaten this team in our last 5 outings with them. No arrogance, no complacency, just play to our best ability.

3. If things start to go wrong, and Plan A doesn’t work, implement Plans B, and C – if necessary with enough time to have an impact. Visiting teams have scarcely scored many at the New Lawn, and there has to be a good reason for that. It will need a whole team effort to keep them out. Do not concede a goal in the last 15 minutes.

And here’s what berksimps said:

1. They need to come out of the blocks without seemingly having training weights around their ankles, and fog in their brains. It wasn’t as if they started slowly against Exeter; some were in such an advanced stage of hibernation they barely recognised one another for the first hour.

2. Getting back to basics would be good, starting with ball retention and passing to teammates. That, coupled with a more positive approach and crosses beyond the first defender will help, as will the injection of pace that should come from the return of Harry Anderson.

3. Treat the Imps who travel all the way to Nailsworth as friends, many could be wet through on the open terrace. Give them something to appreciate and they will give support back in spades: we are the best in this League. Tuesday was the first time this season that the fans were taken for granted, that should not happen again.
