He received an average rating of 5.96 following the 2-1 win at home against Colchester United during the 2017/18 season. Some of the comments can be found below:

Impalex: “Better than most we’ve had recently. Got the red card wrong I thought but most other bits right even giving a foul throw against Colchester.

7/10.”

PerthImp: “Must be me then – personally I thought he was as bad as any other ref I’ve seen this season. Several times I just shouted at the computer screen in disbelief that a decision either wasn’t given, was given when I thought there was nothing, and was disrupting the flow of the game at times. And that was for both teams, so I’m not being that biased. No better than 4/10 for me.”

Scotimp: “I thought he was poor. Gave a free-kick against Rhead in the first 90 seconds when a defender came straight over the top of him – ridiculous decision, especially as Rhead clearly did not know the defender was there. That set the tone for Rhead for the whole game, causing Rhead to lose his rag with the ref in the second half and earn yet another yellow card for dissent. Gave a foul against Whitehouse in the centre circle even though it was behind his (i.e. the ref’s) back – he couldn’t possibly have seen it. Appalling decision to send off Bostwick – what was he consulting the linesman for? Two blatant elbows by Mandron which earned just one yellow card and the opportunity to stay on the pitch and set up the equaliser. Besides that, nothing important.

4/10.”
