The last time The Imps hosted tomorrow’s opponents Wycombe Wanderers was on Tuesday 17th April 2018, in front of a crowd of 8,948.

Ahead of tomorrow’s match, we have done a Q&A with two Wycombe Wanderers supporters, so thank you to Simon and Graham for answering our questions! The answers have been published on two pages. To get to the second set of answers, press “Next” at the bottom right of the page or click HERE!

First up, the answers provided by Simon:

How long have you supported Wycombe Wanderers?

Since the 1980s, they were a non-league team in, what was then called, the Vauxhall Conference.

Where did you finish last season?

We finished 22nd in the Championship.

What do you think of your manager?

Gareth is the best! Not only is he the longest-serving manager in the Football League, but he’s also been with us as a player. He’s stayed as manager for us even when offers came in from bigger clubs. Couldn’t ask for anyone better to lead us back into the Championship!

What are your hopes and expectations for the 2021/22 season?

My one hope and expectation for this season is promotion. Hopefully grabbing an automatic spot.

One(s) to watch?

Garath McLeary is the danger man. He’s agile, silky footed, and has an incredible shot on him. Also, Mehmeti (or Mehmessi as we call him) can go through defences like a hot knife through butter.

Which teams do you think will finish in the top six in League One?

The top six this season I think will be Rotherham, Wycombe, Sunderland. Sheffield Wednesday, Wigan, and Bolton.

Which teams do you think will finish in the bottom four in League One?

The bottom four I think will be Crewe, Wimbledon, Doncaster and Gillingham.

What are your thoughts on Lincoln City?

I think Lincoln are a good, solid side. Your manager knows what he’s doing, and I think the league position doesn’t reflect how well you play.

What do you think the score will be?

I think we’ll win 2-0.

Random fact about your Club?

When you see our players warming up, their training tops have the map of High Wycombe across the chest.

If you could steal one Lincoln City player for your own team, who would it be and why?

We’d steal Teddy Bishop. He can create as well as score.

What are your proudest and most embarrassing moments as a Wycombe Wanderers supporter?

Proudest moment – watching them play in the Championship last season.

Most embarrassing moment – watching from the side of the pitch as the linesman flagged our player offside, and then after the crowd went silent, I shouted an unintentionally loud expletive at him. My mum wasn’t happy!!

Who would you say is your most underrated player?

The most underrated player for me would be Sully KaiKai. Great instinct and skill, just doesn’t get enough game time.

Do you have a Supporters Trust and what role do they play at the Club?

We do have a Supporters Trust, and they have part ownership of the club, and they facilitate all sorts for the fans and are focussing right now on developing official groups for minority groups among fans, such as disabled, ethnic minorities, basically everyone that gets overlooked at games.

Which was your favourite match involving Wycombe Wanderers?

My favourite match was Wycombe vs Spurs in the FA Cup back in 2018. We lost 4-3 in injury time after going 3-2 up with a few minutes to spare. As a Spurs supporter too it was a very emotional day!

Which was your least favourite match involving Wycombe Wanderers?

Least favourite would be the same, for the same reasons!

Do you have a Former Players Association at Wycombe Wanderers?

We have a good FPA at Wycombe, which includes previous managers too such as Martin O’Neill, and they regularly meet up for dinners at Adams Park.
