Lincoln City 2-1 Morecambe: Match Stats & Views From The Forum

|

Views from PerthImp following Tuesday night’s 2-1 win at home against Morecambe in League One: “Phew, most relieved I think I’ve been for a long time. We were just so nervous and had no urgency in the second half. Why do we not put defenders under pressure at home? So many times we just allow opposition defenders time to walk the ball out when they will occasionally give up possession if they are pressurised. I was always taught that players don’t make mistakes unless you pressurise them. Anyway, by far the most important thing is the lads managed to get the three points tonight- hopefully, they will play with a bit more freedom now against Wycombe on Saturday. I hope so 🤞. Great to see Sanders get a full 90 – he did his cause no harm at all and looks a better partner for McGrandles than Fiorini. Walsh also got a full 90 – bet he’s sore tomorrow 😂. Hope he’s come through it OK as I think he and Poole is our best CB pairing at the moment. Has Scully picked up an injury or was he suffering some sort of illness tonight as he just didn’t look himself all game.”

sedgleyimp: “Terrible second half by us by that does not matter. Massive three points which is all that really mattered tonight.

Well done boys. Ground out a result which so often this season we haven’t managed.”

Croozey: “Well, it’s 3 good points. Felt like we just about scraped across the line. We need to battle to stay up, and we did that. But too many lapses in concentration, nearly cost us. Good games for Poole and Walsh. Good goal from Bramhall. McGrandles worked hard in the midfield. Like the look of Marquis, a proper centre-forward.”

JT_LCFC: “Decent win, very good first half the only criticism we didn’t go for the throat and kill the game off. Thought second half we started slow and got nervy, but steadied the ship in the last 15 to see out a relatively comfortable end to the game.

Some very good displays in Mcgrandles, Walsh, Poole, and indifferent with Scully, Whittikar, Maguire where it never really happened.

Massive task on Saturday against a perfected style we hate playing against.”
