Ahead of Saturday’s match at Fratton Park versus Portsmouth in League One, which will be refereed by Paul Howard, we take a look at some of the pre-match discussion on the forum as well as share our quiz about the last time The Imps took on Portsmouth away from home. Just how much can you remember about it? Can you get 8 out of 8? If you’re on X (Twitter), remember to share your score using the button on the results page! The quiz can be found below the pre-match discussion!

Pre-match discussion:

sedgleyimp: “We’ll play as a 5 at the back and try and catch them on the break. Hope Mandroiu and Hackett are available and if they are perhaps a slight alteration to the formation will cause them problems. I’d go for a very firm 3 in the middle and 2 up top

Jensen
Sorensen – O’Connor – Jackson – Roughan – Burroughs
Smith – Erhahon – Hamilton
Hackett – Mandroiu

(Mitchell in if Jackson is still ill)

Portsmouth are looking good this season and are probably the ones to break away from the pack in the race for promotion. I’ll always back our lads though so I’m going for a Ipswich-esque backs to the wall 1-0 win for the Imps with 16% possession and 1 shot on target all game which takes those valuable 3 points.”

Rasenimp: “L 2-0. Probably about holding on at 0-0 as long as possible and trying to nick something through a bit of magic from Reeco or Danny.

Do feel a bit worried this is the period (not unlike the past two seasons) where injuries curtail our progress in the run-up to January, albeit I think this is more defensible/unlucky in terms of personnel than the other examples may have been.”

mikeosullivan: “I’d go:-

Jensen
Sorensen – O’Connor – Jackson – Roughan – Burroughs
Erhahon – Hamilton
Adelakun –  Hackett – Mandroiu

but I can’t see us getting anything. Another 0-2.

This assumes Jackson, Hackett and Mandroui are fit, and nobody else picks up a knock in training Thursday or Friday. We will find out at 2pm on Saturday, although I’m sure MK would prefer to leave it until the teams come out at 2.55pm.
