He received an average rating of 7.58 following the 0-0 draw at home against Sunderland in League One last season. Some of the comments can be found below:

sedgleyimp: “I’ll kick it off with a pretty decent 8. Always looked in control of proceedings and wasn’t fooled by their falls to the floor in the penalty area. Also gave me a laugh when he was clearly pointing to his watch in the 1 minute of injury time when Sunderland were farting about with a throw-in, in an attacking area and then just blew for half-time with a shrug at their player.”

berksimps: “Quite a difficult game for the ref, members of the Sunderland bench continually moaning and in the ear of the fourth official. He stayed cool and did not react to the play-acting. Shirt pulling didn’t appear to be an offence to either side. A fairly decent 7.”

PerthImp: “8/10. May have missed a couple of things (including a possible Sunderland penalty) but he let a real game of football flow as much as he could and didn’t put up with any play-acting.”
