He received an average rating of 8.15 following the 3-0 win at home versus Blackpool in August. Some of the comments can be found below:

sedgleyimp: “The 2 penalties and sending off aside, not too many decisions to make today but he made the right calls when needed. Both penalties looked stonewall from my seat. He can have an 8.”

Luke Imp: “Easy game to referee I think and got the main decisions correct. Thought he was a little too keen to stop Jensen ‘timewasting’ early on in the game so no surprise he eventually found an excuse to book him. One of the better we’re likely to have this season – 9/10.”

Riiiiik: “Had a good game. I liked the way he used his hands to convey his decisions; a lot of referees you’ve no idea what they’re saying to players or what they’re doing. You could tell in the stand by his actions exactly what he meant.

9.”

Martin Coy oversaw a total of 17 matches last season, showing 47 yellow cards and 3 red cards. He was most card-happy in the League Two match between Barrow and Leyton Orient (0-2) when he showed 5 yellow cards and 1 red card, including a booking for former City player Theo Archibald.

So far this season, he has officiated eleven matches in total, showing 48 yellow cards and 3 red cards. He brandished the yellow card on 10 occasions during his first match of the season, which involved tomorrow’s opponents Morecambe in the League Two match versus Walsall (2-1), 7 of which were given to Morecambe players: Jacob Bedeau, Farrend Rawson, JJ McKiernan, Jordan Slew, Yann Songo’o and Donald Love.
