Following Sunday’s 0-0 draw at home against AFC Wimbledon in League One, I asked the Vital Lincoln City members what three things they learned from the match.

Here’s what sedgleyimp said:

Probably not a great deal but……………

1. We will have to make our chances count against Sunderland and beyond. At times today, we played some really nice stuff. Attacks flowed on the deck and there was a good deal of excellent running off the ball. The only thing that was missing today was the final touch to those moves. I expect that the Play-Off games will be quite tight. There will probably only be a single goal between the teams in most of the matches. Chances made need to be taken. That will be the difference in the next 3 games (he typed hopefully).

2. Morgan Rogers is a Number 10. You see comments regarding Rogers for all matches he has played for us of how he is an excellent player but often games can pass him by. Being stuck wide left can allow that to happen. In the last few games and after half-time today he was far more involved for greater periods when he was more centrally placed. Now I don’t suggest that MA should suddenly rip up the tactics which have served us so well over the League season, but if we are to get the very best out of him, playing in a number 10 role is that position for him. Maybe next season when he comes back for the whole nine months.

3. Brennan Johnson needs to read up on the offside rule. I lost count of how many times he wandered offside. The linesman/woman is on his side so it’s not as if they have to look very far. Just give it a bit more thought.
