It was revealed yesterday that Vice Chairman Jay Wright has invested £500,000 into Lincoln City Football Club by purchasing 1 million new shares in the holding company.

Following this announcement, Jay posted the following on Vital Lincoln City:

“Thanks for the kind comments all – and the Virgin Wines order Notty!

I love the Club, we have the best fans in the world and we have a host of incredibly exciting opportunities to continue transforming the fortunes of Lincoln City on and off the pitch for years to come.

The incredible support that all our fans have continued to give the Club over the past year, in the most difficult of times, has been incredible and I’m delighted to also be able to play a part in that.

Let’s hope for a great end to the season, but more importantly, let’s hope we are all back together at the stadium next season, giving the team the kind of support only Imps fans can give, whatever league we are in.

Jay”

Reaction on our 100% Imps forum:

hulloutpost: “There has been some incredible financial contributions from quite a number of people in the last few years. We are very, very lucky and I am not being at all patronising when I say I can’t thank those people enough.”

Casperimp: “Many thanks Jay what a fantastic gesture and shows how lucky we are to have you and all your fellow directors as custodians of our wonderful club.

Our club is at a completely different level to where it was and I am sure we will go onto to achieve even more and grow our club to even more unrecognisable levels.

The future’s bright the future is red and white. Up The Imps!”

berksimps: “Just catching up with a few days activity at LCFC, so this is great news for all, thanks Jay.

Echo ExCherryImp’s thoughts regarding the past 14 months but things are now looking up. The missus managed consecutive dog walks this week, looks and feels much better. The boys came up and helped lay a lawn, and the Imps still have a good chance of promotion in what has been an incredible year for the Club.

No doubt that the Dog, LCFC, and friends and family have helped keep me positive and sane. (Probably in that order).”
