The last time The Imps played tomorrow afternoon’s opponents Milton Keynes Dons (who are now managed by Russell Martin) was on Tuesday 11th February at Sincil Bank, in front of a crowd of 7,783. Time for the Q&A: Thank you to Milton Keynes Dons supporter Steve for answering our questions.

How long have you supported Milton Keynes Dons?

I have supported the club since about the turn of the Millennium, before the move from Selhurst Park. So about 20 years.

Where did you finish last season?

Last season the club underperformed in League 1 finishing 19th, Points Per Game didn’t affect our position.

What do you think of your Manager?

He came in when we were staring at a quick return to League 2, and turned our form on its head massively. It’s early days still, but I feel he can succeed at Stadium MK where a few of his predecessors have struggled in recent year’s.

Who Are The League One Managers? No.13: Russell Martin (MK Dons)

What are your hopes and expectations for the 2020/21 season?

We have a fresh squad this year with most of our star players from last year leaving the club. My hope is that we improve on last season. Would hope for at least a safe mid-table finish.

One(s) to watch?

Daniel Harvie (LB), Scott Fraser (CM), Richard Keogh (CB), David Kasumu (CM), Callum Brittain (RB), Joe Mason (CF) and Sam Nombe (CF).

Rochdale, Crewe Alexandra, AFC Wimbledon and Wigan Athletic.

What are your thoughts on Lincoln City?

Lincoln City are a club on the up and you can tell as a football supporter, looking in (from outside) they have started to assemble a squad capable of competing at the business end of our division. Have always enjoyed my visits to Sincil Bank.

What do you think the score will be?

Really depends on which Dons side turns up, I’d say a draw. 1-1.

Random fact about your Club?

MK Dons was the last club former FIFA World Cup finalist Dietmar Hamann played for before retiring.

If you could steal one Lincoln City player for your own team, who would it be and why?

Tom Hopper – because we are light on the striker front at the moment, would be good at opening up defences and goals would be a bonus.

What are your proudest and most embarrassing moments as a Milton Keynes Dons Supporter?

Proudest moment: Seeing the club getting promoted to the Sky Bet Championship 2015.

Embarrassing moment: None come to mind.

Who would you say is your most underrated player?

Kieran Agard – seems to cop flak from a large section of our support, regardless of how he plays.

Do you have a Supporters Trust and what role do they play at the Club?

There was a Supporters Trust a couple of years after the re-brand. It was short-lived though. The Club works closely with the MK Dons Supporters Association though, which I played a part in helping to form in 2003.

Which was your favourite match involving Milton Keynes Dons?

So many to choose from, can I have 2?

The Football League Trophy final at Wembley in ’08, beating Grimsby 2-0 & The Capital One Cup win over LVG’s Manchester United in August ’14 (4-0).

Which was your least favourite match involving Milton Keynes Dons?

The worst match I’ve been to would have to be Huddersfield Town away, back in ’05/’06, we got pumped 5-0.

Do you have a Former Players Association at Milton Keynes Dons?

There is a Legends Club which plays charity matches representing the Dons, and the club itself does a lot to look after its former players.

The best thing about Milton Keynes? Probably the nightlife to be fair, there are a plethora of nightclubs, and bars to suit everyone’s tastes. And the Town have invested heavily in providing activity venues for young families.

What is your personal view of our new midfielder Conor McGrandles?

He was loved at Stadium MK, although he was injured for most of his stint with us. From what I saw of him though he will cause problems for a fair few of your opponents.

What will Joe Walsh bring to our defence once he’s fit?

Joe is a defensive colossus who commands the backline with authority. Equally as good with his head as he is with his feet.
