Following last night’s 0-0 draw away at Hull City in League One, I asked the Vital Lincoln City members what three things they learned from the match.

Here’s what Chesterimp said:

1. Other results proved tonight: a point away against a promotion rival is a good point, we are probably in a slightly stronger position after the match than we were prior to kick off. Think Bury, think Mansfield in 2018-19.

2. We have 3 top class centre backs. A fair few were worried when Montsma was unavailable but now he’s having to wait patiently for his next league start. Jackson and Walsh have been superb, put their bodies on the line but also look calm and assured on the ball. Walsh, in particular, has also shown a turn of determined pace when needed.

3. We weren’t at our best tonight on a stodgy pitch which clearly affected the flow of the game for both sides. Hull have to complete their season on this, the pitch at Sincil Bank is in better condition and that will be valuable in the run-in. (can I talk about ‘the run-in’ now the transfer window has ‘slammed shut’?)
