Having signed a new long-term contract on Wednesday, it seems inevitable that Harry Anderson is set to appear for Lincoln in League One. When he does, he will become the first Lincoln City player to appear for the club in three different tiers in an upwards direction.

There have been sixteen others in the club’s history to appear in three different tiers, but they have all been in a downwards direction:

1961>62>63: Division Two>Division Three>Division Four (14 players):
Neville Bannister, Ray Barnard, Ken Barrett, Roy Chapman, Brian Drysdale, Bob Graves, Russell Green, Keith Haines, Roger Holmes, Bob Jackson, Bert Linnecor, Fred Middleton, Brian Punter, Jeff Smith.

Roy Chapman is slightly different. Although appearing in three divisions in a downwards direction, his was not a continuous sequence. Chapman made 103 appearances for the Imps in Divisions Two and Three until leaving for Mansfield after two games of the Division Three season of 1961-62. He returned in January 1965 and played 70 games in Division Four.

1986>87>88: Division Three>Division Four>GM Vauxhall Conference (2 players):
Willie Gamble, John McGinley.
