Striker Francis Green has defended his decision to opt for a move to county neighbours Boston United.
The 25-year-old, who has joined Steve Evans’ side on a six-week long loan deal, has pleaded with Imps fans to ‘understand his need to play football’.
‘They are our arch rivals, but I’ve not really been involved at Lincoln, and it doesn’t look like I’m in the manager’s plans.
‘I’ve only got about five months or so on my contract before I become unemployed, so I need to put myself in the shop window to get a new contract with Lincoln or somebody else.’
Green is ineligible for the Pilgrims’ LDV Vans Trophy tie with Kidderminster tonight, but is expected to go straight into the squad for the League Two clash with Wrexham at the weekend.
