Some more good news ahead of the clash against Shrewsbury tonight is that on loan Sunderland stopper Trevor Carson is looking to extend his loan at Sincil Bank.

The 22 year old Northern Ireland keeper is happy he is playing first team football rather than sitting warming a bench at the Stadium of Light.

Third choice behind Scotland number one Craig Gordon and Belgium’s Simon Mignolet the keeper has not been on the end of a losing scoreline since he joined the Imps 5 matches ago.

Hoping to make it six wins in six Carson told the Lincolnshire Echo: ‘I love playing games and love being part of a winning side.’

Carson who has won 11 caps for the Northern Ireland U-21 team added: ‘I hope to extend my loan deal here, I could not sign a deal at Lincoln until the end of the season because Sunderland want a recall option on me, but I am happy here.’

The majority of Imp’s fans put down much of the resurgence of City to the abilities of the replacement for Joe Anyon who had seemed to have lost his confidence before his abscence with illness.

An extension of Carson’s loan and a few more wins over the coming weeks should see the Imps safe from the dreaded drop. Get that paperwork signed now Trevor!
