Man of the match was Nat Brown (7.62) who repelled a lot of Tamworth’s long balls and throw ins in a pretty assured display. Bumbleimp noted that he ‘won all his headers’ while impede pointed out that he had the slight edge on Boyce during the game. ChuckChallenger called the centre half ‘composed’, so all in all it was a pretty good night for the veteran centre back.
A rather younger and a rather different style of player came in second, Jon Nolan (7.05). The only other player to edge over 7 in another solid performance. The young midfielder is growing into his role in midfield and was probably the most likely to make something happen or force a pass through on Tuesday, especially with Alan Power so off the pace. Got an awful lot of 7s and some nice comments, with Brownimp arguing that he ‘ran the show’ in the first half and bbh11 praised some of his defensive work.
The rest of the side lulled around the 6.0 to 6.5 mark apart from a few notably poor displays. Alan Power (4.81) had a rare off night while Nick Wright (4.33) has really struggled to win over City fans so far. Most compared him unfavourably with second half substitute Waide Fairhurst (6.41) who offered a few nice touches in his cameo.
As for posters and things didn’t vary drastically overall. The lowest average however was an unenthused Dutch1585 (5.5) while the highest was tornadoimp and Blake’s mark of 6.33. Those scores were by no means outliers however with the average score being 6.10.
