A mad couple of minutes saw City slip to their third defeat of the season so far on Saturday.
Midfield schemer Alan Power netted the Imps’ opener and was rewarded with a solid score of 7.5, taking the crown as City’s highest rated player for the second time this season (having been the joint highest scorer at Barnet). A return from suspension and certainly a return to fitness mean we are starting to see the player that City were so pleased to keep over the summer.

Second place then went to another who the Imps were desperate to keep hold of: Tom Miller. The ex- Rangers and Norwich utility man looks set in at right back for the foreseeable future and earned a score of 7.25 after another positive score against Southport the previous week.

The third spot was then shared between Ben Tomlinson, Jon Nolan and Sean Newton, another three who have impressed in recent weeks. Tomlinson netted his 4th goal of the season on Saturday while the former Stockport duo have become key fixtures in Gary Simpsons XI.

Unfortunately it’s hard to ignore the one glaringly low score this week, Paul Farman’s 4.75. City’s stopper had a big dip in form last season around Christmas time and we have to hope he is back to his best quickly following Saturday’s aberration. The young keeper allowed Luke Guttridge’s free kick through him, starting a manic three minute period in which Mark Cullen netted the winner. A day to forget for Farman.

Full ratings are as follows:

Paul Farman 4.75
Tom Miller 7.25
Andrew Boyce 6.25
Nat Brown 5.75
Sean Newton 7.00
Luke Foster 5.5
Jon Nolan 7
Alan Power 7.5
Mo Fofana 5.5
Danny Rowe 5.5

Ben Tomlinson 7
(Todd Jordan 5.5)
