Who were our star performers in August (and 30 July)?
Top of the pile is CARL RUSHWORTH, making a fine start to what we must hope will be a season-long loan. Rushworth looks a cut above the norm at this level and it is easy to see why Brighton rate him so highly. How nice to see a keeper who actually catches the ball instead of flapping at it.
Another loanee JORDON GARRICK takes second place after revitalising the Imps’ attack with some surging runs; his goal at Barrow two minutes into stoppage time kept us in the Carabao Cup and allowed Jordan Wright to take us through.
In third place, we have REGAN POOLE, who started the season with two standout man-of-the-match performances. Some were surprised that he was not appointed captain, but at least he remains with us at the end of the transfer window.
An honourable mention goes to Jordan Wright, who produced a legendary goalkeeping performance in the shootout at Barrow. Not many goalkeepers at any level can say they saved three successive penalties to win a tie.
