With Paul Green in and out of the squad depending on the injury situation Steve Tilson is plugging the gap with a product of the Arsenal youth setup.

A right full back who has played for England at Under 17 right up to Under 20 international level, Gavin Hoyte could be one to watch. Signed on a youth loan deal, this will be outside of the normal loan numbers allowed during the season and could be a shrewd move by Tilly.

Having been with Arsenal since the age of 9 the 20 year old has been a regular on the bench for the Gunners in a number of competitions. He made his first senior appearance for Arsenal in the League Cup against Sheffield United in 2008.

He was made captain of the 2008-09 reserve side and made further first team appearances for the Gunners in the League Cup starting against Wigan and Burnley. His Premier League debut came against Manchester City, again in 2008.

Having then signed a new long term contract with Arsene Wenger’s team Hoyte was then sent out on loan to Watford for the remainder of the 2008/09 season.

In the following season Hoyte signed on loan for Brighton and Hove Albion which was extended a couple of times and saw him make 18 appearances for the Seagulls.

Vital Lincoln is impressed with this loan signing and this is one that really stands out. It just goes to show that Tilly over the last couple of days has returned to his old stomping grounds in the South East and has brought in players he knows. Let’s hope the Imps now finally start to move up the table.
