Ahead of tomorrow’s match at home against Wycombe Wanderers in League One, I asked the Vital Lincoln City members what three things they think The Imps need to do to pick up all three points.

Here’s what Chimpimp said:

1. Wycombe’s last three matches have seen a home loss to MK Dons, a draw against Shrewsbury, and a loss against Morecambe.
So they aren’t in great form and a positive approach, taking the game to the away team, going through a poor spell, makes sense. A confident start similar to Tuesday night and positive attacking intent is the way to approach this match.

2. Keep possession. A lot of talk has been about the physical challenge that Wycombe will present. That’s true and Lincoln will need to stand up to it but they can also avoid it to some extent. It’s difficult to lump the ball into the box if you aren’t in possession, so the less possession Wycombe have the less dangerous they will be. It’s also more likely to give the home side an attacking edge as the first half-hour on Tuesday night showed.

3. Make the most of the conditions and use them to your advantage. 40 mile per hour winds are forecast and if it’s anything like Tuesday, most of the game will be played at the Stacey West End. It might actually suit Lincoln. Long balls catch the wind and sail out of play or stall, depending on the way you are playing. It’s easier to be in control with the ball on the deck with decent passing.
